Marion Marcellus

Marion Marcellus, age 85, passed away on December 20, 2013 at Good Samaritan-Scandia Village in Sister Bay, WI. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St Luke’s Episcopal Church, 2336 Canterbury Lane, Sister Bay, WI, with the Rev. Barbara Sajna officiating. Inurnment will be at the Church of the Atonement, Fish Creek, WI.

Marion was born February 25, 1928 in Washington, DC to Walter and Viola Salb. She was raised in Washington, DC and started her life-long passion for music and the piano at an early age. She married Robert Marcellus on September 1, 1953 in Washington, DC. They lived in Cleveland, OH and Evanston, IL and started coming to Door County in the early 1950’s to be a part of the Peninsula Music Festival. They moved full-time to Sister Bay in the early 1990’s. Marion performed and taught piano most of her life.

She is survived by one sister, Katharine Dye, of Leonard Town, MD and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and a sister and brother.

Memorials are preferred to the Good Samaritan-Scandia Village Capital Campaign, 10560 Applewood Road, Sister Bay, WI 54234. A lunch will be served at St. Luke’s following the funeral service.
