Evelyn Augustian Parma, age 96 of Kewaunee died on Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Kewaunee Care Center. She was born on April 28, 1917 in Tisch Mills to the late Orin and Meta (Olson) Olsen.
She graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1933 and Kewaunee Co. Normal School in 1934. She married Orville Augustian October 31, 1937 and he preceded her in death June 12, 1971. She then married Elmer Parma on October 14, 1982 and he preceded her in death May 29, 1994.
She and Orville farmed in the Town of Carlton for many years. She also cooked at Larry & Mona’s Restaurant in Kewaunee for over twenty years. Orville and Evelyn square danced with the Cool City Squares for over twenty years. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church Norman and the Rosary Society, member of the Daughters of Isabella and Wayside Homemakers. She was a great cook and pie maker.
Survivors include five sons: Robert (Carol) Augustian, DePere, WI; William Augustian, Southport, NC; Richard (Mary) Augustian, Greenleaf, WI; Joseph (Jeannie) Augustian, DePere, WI; Edward (Claire) Augustian, Kewaunee; Three daughters: Barbara Buehlman, Oxford, AL; Teresa (Jack Stangel) Augustian, Abrams, WI; Bonnie Gilson, Kewaunee; two step-daughters: Delores Augustian, DePere; Donna (Mike) Gilson, DePere; step daughter-in-law: Mary Parma, DePere, WI; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson; one sister-in-law: Lenore Olsen, DePere, WI and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren; a son-in-law: Russ Gilson; a step-son: David Parma; two brothers: Norman (LaVerne) Olsen and Orlando Olsen.
Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 31 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee. A parish wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. by Dcn. Robert Pribek. Visitation continues on Saturday at St. Isidore the Farmer Church in Tisch Mills after 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Fr. Dennis Drury. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Norman.
