Mary Louise (Mert) Hermann, 84 died on January 27, 2014. She was born March 14, 1929 in York, PA, the daughter of Amos and Margaret Hermann. She was the youngest of three daughters.
After graduations from William Penn Sr. High School, she attended the University of Maryland for one year, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
Mert attended the University of California, Santa Barbara campus. In 1953 she served as the director of the recreation center at Miswa Air Base and Johnson Air Base in Japan. A job she held for 2 1/2 years.
In 1957 she moved to England where she directed the recreation center at Shephers Grove and Bentwaters Air Force Base. She held this position for four years before moving back to the States, where she enrolled at Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas, earning a degree in Physical Therapy in 1963.
She remained in Houston working in her new field from 1963-1974 when she moved to Ephraim, WI, opening the Hayloft at the Red Barn Shops. She operated this business from 1974 until retirement in Sister Bay, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Ann Goldsmith and Elizabeth Baer.
She is survived by nieces Barbara Brady and Nancy Gresham.
At her request no funeral service will be held
