Priscilla L. Meyer

Priscilla L. Meyer, 88, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on February 23, 2014. She was born September 19, 1925, in Sturgeon Bay to Robert and Lillian (Smith) Carmody.

Priscilla graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1943. On April 19, 1947, she married Lester Meyer at Corpus Christi Church. She worked in various departments at the Door County Court House and was Deputy Register of Deeds until her election to Door County Register of Deeds in 1976. She held that office until her retirement in 1988.

Priscilla was a partner with her husband in Meyercraft and Potawatomi Kennels for many years. She was a member of the Sturgeon Bay Businesswomen, Peninsula Planters, St. Ann’s Society, Catholic Daughters, and the Door County Republican Party.

Survivors include her daughter, Jan Resler (significant other, Joseph Riederer) Sturgeon Bay; grandson, Dirk K. Resler of Galveston, TX, and his fiancé, Rachel Adams of Savannah, GA; Joseph Riederer’s children, Jeremy and Jennifer; a sister, Sharon (Gerald) Wetak, Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Robert and Dean Carmody.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Corpus Christi Church, the Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Forbes Funeral Home and then after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the church until time of services. On Friday a rosary will be said by the Catholic Daughters at 4:00 p.m. and a prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to Door County Youth Trap League in her name.
