William A. Walter

Walter, William A. (Bill) Entered God’s loving arms on August 1, 2014 in Door County, WI. Beloved husband of Anne (nee Newhauser) for 57 years. Loving father of Greg (Joanne) Walter of Germantown, WI; Linda (Pete) Frederick of Southlake, TX; Cathy Walter of Elm Grove, WI; Patti (John) Hein of Germantown WI. Fun-loving and proud grandfather of William and Ben Walter, Nathan and Aaron Frederick, and Lindsay and Reggie Hein.

Bill is survived by siblings Joe (Genie), Fred (Sally), Tom (Pat) and Barbara, and sister-in-law & brother-in-law Peggy and John Van Voorhis. He will also be missed by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His parents, William and Marian Walter and b-in-law Gary, preceded him in death.

Bill was a long-time resident of Brookfield, WI before moving to Sanibel Island, FL 33 years ago. He and Anne bought the Harbor House Restaurant and ran it for 18 years. For the last 14 years Anne and Bill spent half the year on Sanibel and the other half at their “cottage in the woods” in Door County, WI.

Bill enjoyed life and the many wonderful friends he made along the way as Bill and Anne were avid travelers, boaters & motorcyclists. And his dream of being a pilot came true.

Visitation Thursday, August 7, at St. Mary’s Visitation Catholic Church, 1260 Church St. (corner of Juneau and Church Street), Elm Grove, WI, from 9 AM until the time of Memorial Mass at 11 AM. Private committal services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Am. Heart Assoc., or the Am. Diabetes Assoc. or The Trauma Center at Lee Memorial Hospital, Ft. Myers, FL.

Your family will always love and miss you.
