James Arnold Erickson

James Arnold Erickson graduated from Terra Firma to the land of endless day, at the awesome age of 91 on Thursday, August 7, 2014.

Born in North Bay, Wisconsin, son of Herbert and Edith (Anderson) Erickson. He attended the North Bay School for the allotted eight years. Jim served in the U.S. Army in Europe for three-and-a-half years.

Married Bernadean Sanborn. Raised five wonderful children. All of his family survive: Sandra (Gary) Holbrook, Shirley (Ralph) Prokup, Patricia (Dan) Nowland, Robert Erickson, Judith Erickson; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Fruit grower in North Bay for 25 years, 12 years realtor owned Doorway Realty in Sturgeon Bay. Co-owner with wife, Bernadean – Bernie’s dress shoppe. Wife, Bernadean, passed away in 1992. Later married Alberta Schneider who survives.

Artist and writer, having written the book, North Bay, Door County, Wisconsin. As an artist, had solo showing of his art. Taught art to children as well as adults. Enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing.

The family will hold a memorial get-together at a later date.

A special thank you to Staff at the Dialysis Center, Sturgeon Bay, for their loving care of our father for the past four-and-a-half years. Also to Unity Hospice staff for their care during his last days.
