Dorothy Geier

Dorothy Geier, 101, of Algoma, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at the Algoma Long Term Care. She was born on December 29, 1912, in Maplewood to Peter and Angeline Geier. She was a member of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Maplewood.

Dorothy lived most of her life on the family farm and enjoyed flower gardening, baking, and sewing. She also loved music, playing the piano and watching movies.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Pauline Geier, Forestville; and one niece, Mary (Lyle) Heiges, Sturgeon Bay. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Leo and Norbert Geier.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Maplewood with Rev. Anthony Birdsall officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Thursday.
