Raymond Steve Lopez

Raymond Steve Lopez, 43, of Sister Bay, well known by his friends and family as Steve, died unexpectedly at work late Tuesday evening, August 12, 2014, from an apparent heart attack.

He was born January 8, 1971, in Smithson, NY, the only son of Raymond Lopez and Priscilla Rivera Lopez.
Following his graduation from High School, Steve served in the Army National Guard for 10 years. He was well educated in Computer Technology and his vast knowledge and skill lead him to open his own business here in Door County, specializing in technology support for the local business and residents.

He met his wife Kristin Marie Kalms of Sister Bay, WI, eleven years ago and they were married on June 19, 2010. His love for her was apparent to all who knew him. On October 30, 2013, they were blessed with a baby boy, Lucas Jax Lopez.

Steve had a contagious smile that lit up the room and warmed everyone around him. He was one of those bright shining stars that you only encounter a couple of times in your life. Steve was devoted man of God, who accepted salvation at a young age and embraced his life walking in faith each day. A generous and helping spirit, Steve was always ready to step in and assist others. Steve loved to make people smile and nearly everyone who met him has a story to tell about something great he did.

Survivors include his wife, Kristin and their son Lucas; his children, Hailey and Dylan Lopez of New York, father and stepmother, Raymond and Victoria Lopez of New York; mother, Priscilla Rivera of South Carolina; and Kristin’s parents, Steve and Jan Kalms of Sister Bay.
Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:30 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2014, and Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Michael J. Grant Funeral Homes in New York. Interment will be in Queen of All Saints Cemetery, Central Islip, NY.

A Memorial service will be scheduled later in Sister Bay for friends and family.
