Jean M. Younk

Jean M. Younk, age 88 of Kewaunee went peacefully in the arms of the Lord on Friday, August 22, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born on March 30, 1926 in Kewaunee to the late Joseph and Myrtle Kalchek.

Jean graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1944. She married Peter W. Younk on December 13, 1947 and he preceded her in death September 28, 1973.

She worked for Leyse Aluminum Co., now Vollrath for many years until retiring in 1991. She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Parish.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Bonnie and Marvin Lund, Green Bay; Sandy and Lee Jewett, Tampa, FL; six grandchildren: Holly; Kenny; Sherry; Johnny; David; Gary; ten great grandchildren: Kristina; Leeann; Lucus; Jenni; Kenny; Hayley; Jacob; Christopher; Nicholas; Hope; ten great great grandchildren: Ezra; Elizabeth; Tyler; Sean; Cameron; Alec; London; Lilly Adalyn; Abram; one sister: Mary Hensey, IL. Preceded in death by three brothers: Willard, David and Edward Kalchek.

Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 26 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee. A parish wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Wednesday until 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
