Devoted wife of the late Robert Duane Wright; dear mother of Andrea (John) Niehaus, Louisville, Ohio and Lainie (Bob) Kufrin, Jacksonport, Wisconsin; grandmother of Bryan (Christina Mazzara) Niehaus, Livonia, Michigan, Lindsay (Steve) Sailor, Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jason (Jenny) Kufrin, Brookfield, Wisconsin, Brandon (Esther) Kufrin, London, Great Britain and Eric (Valerie) Kufrin, West Allis, Wisconsin; great-grandmother of Gavin Sailor, Allie Niehaus, Ronan and Declan Kufrin, Tobias Kufrin, Kayla, Johnny, and Alyssa Borowski, aunt to Richard, Peter (deceased) and Michael Selway, Mary Schreiner.
Doris grew up and graduated from Lucy Flower Technical High School, Chicago and was inducted in the National Honor Society. She studied piano and won a National Piano Players Guild Award and danced at the Chicago World’s Fair. She worked for First National Bank, Chicago.
On April 22, 1944 she was married to Bob, a Navy lieutenant in Chicago and shared life together for 36 years until his death in 1980. They lived in several communities including Virginia Beach, Virginia; Camp Lake, Wisconsin; Mount Prospect, Illinois and Des Peres, Missouri.
