Donna J. Ditewig, 82, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at Golden Living Center – Dorchester on Dec. 3, 2012. She was born on Nov. 13, 1930, in Sturgeon Bay to Clarence and Charlotte (Berger) Delair. On Nov. 15, 1947, she married Frederick Ditewig in Sturgeon Bay.
When she was young, Donna did seasonal cherry factory work, picked apples, and worked at the meat dept. at the Piggly Wiggly for a number of years. She also babysat for her granddaughters and was a long time volunteer in the office at St. Peters Lutheran Church and a member of the church choir. Donna collected salt & pepper shakers, loved watching anything her grandchildren were involved in, and she enjoyed her annual vacation in Rhinelander with her family.
Survivors include her husband; a son, John “Jack” (Nancy) Ditewig, SturgeonBay; 2 granddaughters, Andrea (Eric) Straehl and Monica (Tom) Johnson; a great-grandson, Easton Johnson; a sister-in-law, Delores Monfils; brother-in-law, Albert Wagner; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law Conrad and Esther Ditewig; a brother, Norman Delair; a sister, Laverne Delair; 2 brothers-in-law, Hilton Ditewig and Bernard Monfils; a sister-in-law, Joyce Wagner, and a nephew, Peter Ditewig.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at St. Peters Lutheran Church with the Rev. Darrick Kolterjahn officiating. Burial will be in Bayside Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be directed to St. Peters Lutheran Church.
