Candice 'Candi' C. Ehnert

Candi Ehnert, 62 years, of Sturgeon Bay, died Saturday morning (January 5, 2013) at Ministry-Door County Medical Center ICU following a lengthy illness.

She was born February 23, 1950 in Washington D.C., the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Peot) Marcussen. Candi married Kenneth G. Ehnert on September 21, 1984 in Sturgeon Bay. She had worked for FLS banners, and Doorco.

Candi was a loyal and good friend to all who knew her. She had an accepting and nonjudgmental attitude which made her someone to lean on even though she was suffering with severe pain and illness. Candi amazed everyone around her including her doctors with her determination and fight taken to her illness.

She liked sewing, baking, making jewelry, arts and crafts, and drawing.

Survivors include her husband, Ken of Sturgeon Bay; daughter, Atlanta-Marie Ehnert; son, Charles Anschutz, all of Sturgeon Bay; four sisters, Cindy (Charles) Bruss of Algoma, Cathy (Dwayne) Kenley of Iowa, Cassandra (Tobin) Larsen of Sturgeon Bay, Corley (Nathan) of Iowa; brother, Claude (Barb) Marcussen of Sturgeon Bay; the Ehnert families; and many dear nieces and nephew along with their families.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on January 18, 2013, (Friday) at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Konkol officiating.

Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the time of services at 2:00 p.m. on January 18, 2013 (Friday).

A special thanks to the staff and doctors at Ministry, especially Dr. Richard Hogan, and her niece Theresa Huss for being there when Candi really needed you.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory.
