Leonard O. Dahms

Leonard O. Dahms, 88, of Forestville, passed away at MinistryDoorCountyMedicalCenter on March 8, 2013. He was born June 12, 1924, in Forestville to John and Anna (Krueger) Dahms. On September 6, 1947, he married Kathaleen Lau in Forestville; she preceded him in death on November 26, 2008.

Leonard was the Standard Oil Agent in Forestville from 1951-1986. He then worked for Quality State Oil until his retirement in 1988. He served as the sexton of St. Peter’s LutheranCemetery in Forestville for many years. Leonard was known for his trout boils in Door and Kewaunee County and was a member of the American Legion Post #372. He enjoyed playing cards, following the Brewers, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David “Henry” (Judy) Dahms, Sturgeon Bay; two granddaughters, Amy (Brian) Schwiderski and Kelly (Rob) Dahms-Schartner, Sturgeon Bay; and a great-granddaughter, Brianna Dahms. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister, Loretta Schmiling; three brothers, Alfred (Ruth), Milton (Puddy) and Eldor Dahms; in-laws, Charles (Ora) Lau and Charles Lau Jr.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m.Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at St. Peter’s LutheranChurch, Forestville, the Rev. Carl Brewer and Rev. Steven Apfel officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Southern Door Fire Department in his name. Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at
