Karon (Uecker) Ripp, 71, of Little Harbor in Sturgeon Bay, WI, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Ministry Door County Medical Center with family at her side.
She was born February 7, 1942, in Green Bay, WI, to George and Esther (Brandenburg) Uecker. Karon graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1960. She went on to study X-Ray technology, initially at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and then at the University of Minnesota where she completed her degree. Karon worked as a revenue officer for the Internal Revenue Service for 32 years out of offices in San Francisco, CA, Laguna Niguel, CA, New Orleans, LA, Las Vegas, NV, and most recently in Green Bay. She was nationally recognized as an expert in her field.
On March 16, 1973, Karon was united in marriage to Dan Ripp at Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay. They were blessed to share over 41 years together.
Karon will be forever in the hearts of her husband, Dan Ripp of Sturgeon Bay; son, Mike Ackerman of Baton Rouge, LA; two step-children, Melissa (Dan) Kishish of East Bethel, MN, Randy Ripp of DeLand, FL; three grandchildren, Jennifer Ripp, and Amanda and Allison Kishish; two siblings, LeRoy (Jane) Uecker of Green Bay, Barbara (Scott) Tremberth of Green Lake, WI; nephew, Brett (Jennifer) Hurney (and their children, Gage, Gannon, and Ireland) of Wauconda, IL; and other dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service honoring and celebrating Karon’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay with Rev. Philips Sweet officiating. Inurnment will be made at Bayside Cemetery.
Friends may gather at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Karon’s memory to DOOR CANcer Inc. or Unity Hospice.
