Daniel Dale Ehlers, 77, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at his home on March 19, 2013. He was born on May 21, 1935, in Sturgeon Bay to Harold and Pauline (Anschutz) Ehlers. Daniel graduated from Sevastopol High School and on June 2, 1956, he married Diann Bley in West Jacksonport. He farmed on the family homestead in the Town of Sevastopol for 23 years. He drove school bus for 47 years and also worked in maintenance at the Sevastopol Schools for many years. Daniel was a life-time member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Valmy.
Survivors include his wife, Diann; three children, D. Todd (Cynthia) Ehlers, Baileys Harbor; Tamie (David) Grasse, Sturgeon Bay; Jennifer (Scott) Smith, Combined Locks, WI; six grandchildren, Elliott (Nina) Grasse, Alex Grasse, Cameryn Ehlers, Benjamin Ehlers, Madisen Smith, and Payton Smith; two sisters, Janice (Robert) Sauger, Sheboygan; Virginia (Skip) Wick, Hurley; mother-in-law, Marion Bley, Sturgeon Bay. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Stanley “Smokey” Bley.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 23, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Valmy with Rev. Benjamin Enstad officiating.
