Robert "Bob" A. Schwabenlander

Robert “Bob” A. Schwabenlander, 91 of New Franken, died Monday afternoon, November 19, 2018, in Luxemburg. He was born in Hilbert to the late Joseph J. and Theresa M (Gruber) Schwabenlander. Post-WWII he served his country in the United States Army from 1946 to 1948. On April 26, 1949, he married Armella S. Thiel at St. John Catholic Church, Hilbert. She preceded him in death on May 27, 1982. On October 21, 1983, Bob married Urania A. Heim-Phillips at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Sugar Bush. He farmed and drove a truck until retirement in 1988. Bob was a member of the St. John Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus all in Hilbert and the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg. His enjoyments included playing cards, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and his two cats, Henry and Lucy and his dog, Lady.

 

Survivors include his wife Urania, his five children, Jeff (Gloria) Schwabenlander, Hilbert; Patricia Loose (Steve Wolf), Appleton; Kathy (Merlin) Loose, Hilbert; Mike (Sue) Schwabenlander, Kaukauna; Ann (Dan) Gehl, Menasha; two stepchildren, Cindy (Mike) Rukamp, New Franken; Doug (friend, Cindy) Phillips, New Franken; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four sisters in law; several nieces and nephews.

 

Bob was preceded in death by, one infant child; one brother, five sisters in law and six brothers in law.

 

Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, November 23, 2018. Closing American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg, memorial service with full military honors at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue between 9:00 and 10:45 am on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at St. John Catholic Church, N7692 County Trunk BB, Hilbert, Wi. 54129. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Saturday, at the church with Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Hilbert. www.mcmahonfh.com
