“Our Sunshine”
Sara J. Burmeister, 39, Algoma, passed away peacefully at home with her mom and family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 21, 1979, in Algoma to Janet (Burmeister) Hecker and Michael Deprey.
As a young adult, she lived at Rockwood Heights in Green Bay for 20 years. She recently moved back to Algoma to live with her mom.
Sara will always be remembered for her smile that would warm your heart and light up the room. Sara brought so much joy to our family and anyone else who knew her. She loved music and going to concerts, enjoyed time spent with family and attending the day program at the CP Center. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a loving, caring heart.
Sara is survived by her mother and step-dad, Janet and Ken Hecker, father Mike Deprey (Tracy), brothers Mike and Levi, stepbrother Tad Hecker, aunts and uncles Linda (Allen) Haszel, Dennis Burmeister, Diane Marit, Ron Burmeister, Carol Martineau, Lois (Bob) Burmeister, Gary Deprey, Crystal Deprey, Lisa Deprey and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Harold and Ruth Burmeister, Arvilla Raynier and adoptive grandparents Richard and Lois Wills.
Family and friends may gather at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, from 1:00 PM until the time of services at 3:00 PM.
The family wants to give a special thanks to the caring staff at Rockwood Heights, CP Center, care team at Unity Hospice and the staff at Green Bay Oncology.
