Geraldine Fameree

Geraldine Fameree, 93, passed away on December 29, 2018. Gerry was born on February 9, 1925 to the late Emil and Anna (Walecka) Ripley in Slovan. She graduated from Lena High School in 1942. After graduation she worked alongside her dad as a cheesemaker in the cheese factory in Lena and then later in Lincoln when they moved there. Lincoln is where she met Mel Fameree. She married Mel on June 15, 1948 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lincoln. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1989.

 

Gerry loved to dance and sing. She sang in the choir at St. Peter's Church and performed and sang with the Wisconsin Czech Choraliers. She also loved gardening. She always had a huge garden and enjoyed sharing her bounty with family, friends and neighbors. She did a lot of canning and was famous for her pickles. Everyone loved them.

 

Gerry is survived by her seven children, Jim (Zoe) Fameree of Green Bay, Chuck (special friend Teina) Fameree  of Green Bay, Gloria (Randy) Klosterman of DePere, Joe (Nancy) Fameree of Algoma, DJ (Annette King) Fameree of New Franken, Dave (Jill) Fameree of Black Creek, and Rhonda (Tim) Weinschenk of Green Bay. She is also survived by many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren - all of which she loved and adored with all her heart. She will be greatly missed by everyone. She was preceded in death by brother and sisters and brothers-in-law.

Family and friends may visit at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Homes, Casco from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 with a prayer service at 7 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday Morning, January 3, 2019 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church – Lincoln from 10-11 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am with Fr. Edward Looney officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
