Elaine L. Bonville

Elaine L. Bonville, 87, a longtime resident of Fish Creek, WI died on November 30, 2019 at Good Samaritan Scandia Village in Sister Bay, WI.
Elaine was born in Baileys Harbor, WI to Henry and Minnie (Lang) Schultz. She graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1950. On December 21, 1952, she married Glenn Bonville at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Baileys Harbor. He preceded her in death in 1984.
For many years Elaine and Glenn owned and operated BonVilla Cottages in Fish Creek. They sold the water side cottages in 1979 due to Glenn’s failing health and moved to the house at the top of the hill. Elaine was never one to be idle. She enjoyed maintaining her home, cutting her grass, tending to her flowers, and working during the summer months at various area businesses. Elaine was strong-willed and independent. She had a genuine care and concern for others.
Elaine was a longtime member of Fish Creek Community Church where she served on various committees and for more than fifty years assisted in preparing communion for church services.
Elaine is survived by her children, Keith (Sharon Anderson) of Baileys Harbor, and Kathleen (James Thiel) of Franklin, WI and Fish Creek; two grandchildren, Jesse (Jessica Manson) of Baileys Harbor, and Lynsey Thiel Fontes (Ernest) of San Diego, CA; step grandchildren, Douglas Thiel (Carol) of South Lake, TX, and Melanie Thiel of Madison, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Schultz; sister, Eleanor Woerfel; husband; and other dear relatives and friends.
A service in remembrance and celebration of Elaine’s life will be held at the Community Church of Fish Creek at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Scandia for the compassionate care they gave to their Mom and extend their sincere appreciation to all who visited or remembered Elaine in some way during her years at Scandia.
Memorials may be given in Elaine’s memory to Community Church of Fish Creek or Feed and Clothe My People of Door County.
Casperson Funeral Home in Sister Bay is assisting the Bonville family. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Elaine may be shared with her family through her tribute page at www.caspersonfuneralhome.com.
