Carol M. Schwoerer

Carol M. Schwoerer, age 83, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully on Friday Jan. 29th at Door County Medical Center.

Carol was born Dec. 4, 1937 in Sturgeon Bay, WI to the late William and Clara Buschmann.  On Sept. 16, 1955, she married Alfred “Al” Schwoerer at Corpus Christi Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on Nov. 29th, 2010.  Together, they raised two sons, Mark and Bill Schwoerer.

Carol was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the cottage in Sawyer Harbor, taking walks, reading, fishing, and playing cards and dominos.  Al and Carol also enjoyed camping and spending winter months in Golf Shores, Alabama for over twenty years.  The last two years Carol lived at Pine Crest Village, an assisted living community in Sturgeon Bay where she was reunited with old acquaintances and made new cherished friendships.

Carol is survived by one son, Mark (Betty) Schwoerer, New Franken; daughter-in-law Pam Schwoerer, Pulaski; three grandchildren, Alexandria (Kevin) Marsh, Lindsey (Tyler) Percy, and Megan Schwoerer; Carol also had three great-grandchildren who gave her great joy: Madelyn, Raelyn and Josselin Marsh

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Bill (2010).

Private family services will be conducted at Corpus Christi Church with entombment at St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum.  Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pine Crest and Door County Medical Center for the care and compassion shown toward Carol and her family.
