Patricia Jane (Schmelzer) LeBotte

Patricia Jane (Schmelzer) LeBotte, 85, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Bellin Hospital.

Patti was born on February 2, 1936 in Forestville to Delbert and Thelma (Hunt) Schmelzer.  She graduated from Algoma High School.

Patti married Eugene (Gene) LeBotte in Maplewood on January 3, 1957.  She enjoyed playing her French horn in the Algoma Community Band, was a member of St. Mary Rosary Society, donated her time and talent to St. Mary Parish and School for many years, and enjoyed spending winters in Florida where she and Gene made some very dear friends.  They graciously opened their home for many years to foster children. She was involved in 4-H and Girl Scouts.  She loved attending all her children and grandchildren’s school and sporting events.

Patti is survived by their seven children, Mark (Tammy) LeBotte, Sara (Marty) Olejniczak, Ann LeBotte, Paul LeBotte (friend Terri MacGregor), John (Karrie) LeBotte, all of Algoma; Teresa LeBotte Hannily of Green Bay and Missy LeBotte of Algoma; 13 grandchildren, Robert (Linda) LeBotte, JoAnna Severinsen, Jacob LeBotte, Brandon (Carrie) Spude, Nicholas (Jessie) Spude, Lydia Olejniczak, Sadie Olejniczak, Shana (Corie) Kinjerski, Renee LeBotte, Jason (Selina) LeBotte, Matthew LeBotte, Emily Williams, Hannah Williams; 18 great grandchildren; five brothers, George Schmelzer, Sturgeon Bay; Paul Schmelzer, Boise, Idaho; Richard Schmelzer, Green Bay; Robert Schmelzer, Forestville; and Michael (Bonnie) Schmelzer, DePere; one sister, Mary (Frank) Roznik, Denmark.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Donlan, father-in-law Elmer LeBotte, mother-in-law Frances LeBotte, two sisters-in-law Barbara and Gloria Schmelzer, and one great grandson Levi Spude.

Friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma, Tuesday. June 1. 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. With Father Alvan Amadi officiating.  Burial in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials to be made to either St. Mary Parish or St. Mary School.

The SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, was entrusted to handle the arrangements.
