Irene L. Radtke

Irene Lucille (Harrison) Radtke, aged 93 of Algoma WI, passed away on August 8, 2021,  at her home surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born to H. Clarence and Ida  (Ternes) Harrison on January 15, 1928, in Fence, WI. Irene attended a one room school  in Fence, WI through the 8th grade, after which she attended and graduated from  Goodman High School. After graduation, she moved to Neenah and began working as a  punch-card operator at IBM in 1946. Shortly after, Irene met her husband Dick and they  were married on December 27, 1947, celebrating more than 64 years of marriage before his passing in 2012. 

Irene was a devoted wife and mother, and active in her community, she was a Grand Matron of The Order of the  Eastern Star, and the Algoma Methodist Church where she enjoyed being a choir member for 40+ years. She  touched the lives of many people with her kindness, compassion, and quiet determination. Together Irene and  Dick were very involved in the public education community. An animal lover during her lifetime, Irene was devoted  to her many precious dogs. She also enjoyed golf (hitting a hole in one in 1976 at the Alaska Golf Course), travel,  skiing, tending her flower garden, reading, playing bridge, music, and watching the Brewers. Most of all, Irene  enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. 

She is survived by her children Valerie Radtke of Algoma, WI and Paul (Donna) Radtke of Crivitz, WI; her daughter in-law, Lori Radtke of New Buffalo, Michigan, and her sisters-in-law, Gladys and Grace Harrison. She is also  survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Irene is preceded in death by her husband, son Philip, parents, and siblings, Flora (Wilbur) Hack, Robert Harrison,  and Norman Harrison. 

Visitation will be held at Algoma United Methodist Church from 10:00 am until 11:30 am on Friday, August 13th,  2021, followed by Funeral Service at 11:30 am with Pastor Jennifer Emert officiating. Burial will follow at a later  date in Fence, WI. Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home – Algoma is assisting the family. Online condolence messages  may be shared at www.wiesnermassart.com.
