Christian "Chris" Demmin

Christian “Chris” Demmin, 83, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Jan. 3, 2022 at Alpha Senior Concepts in Green Bay.  He was born May 8, 1938 in Sturgeon Bay to Christopher and Edna (Torstenson) Demmin.  Chris served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956-1967 and from 1976-1988.   He was a longtime and active member of Amvets Post #51.

On Dec. 21, 1957 he married Caroline Kinnard in Institute.  Chris worked as the plant manager for the Door County Coop for 30 years.  In his retirement he enjoyed wood working with his grandson, camping, listening to country music and spending time with his dog Rascal.

He is survived by his wife Carol, 3 children, Ronald (Mary) Demmin, Luxemburg; Linda Delwiche, Green Bay; Jeff (Lauri) Demmin, Luxemburg; 9 grandchildren: David (Lindsey), Heidi (Dan), Kim (Brian), Craig (Shaina), Bryan (Stacie), Taylor, Jordan, Kyle and Jacob; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Kerrin Rae, Sturgeon Bay; in-laws, Marilyn Anderson, Patsy (Tim) Kruse, and David (Amy) Kinnard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 5 sisters, and in-laws.

Funeral services with military honors will be conducted at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay at 11:00 am on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022.  Burial will be in Schumacher Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7 pm and at the church on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service.  A devotion will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 6:30 pm.
