Joan S. Bouchonville

Joan S. Bouchonville, 85 of Luxemburg, went to be in the arms of the Lord on Thursday evening, February 10, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Door County on November 27, 1936, to the late Joseph and Eleanor (Robillard) Franda. Following the passing of her father, her mother Eleanor married Herbert Lenius, who raised Joan and her siblings as his own.  Joan graduated from Brussels High School in 1954.  On September 5, 1955, she married Dale A. Bouchonville at St. Francis Church in Brussels.  She was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Joseph Church in Champion.  She is known for creating handmade baby blankets which were donated to St. Joseph Parish fund raising events. Joan also orchestrated the weekly church bulletin at St. Joseph for many years.  Along with raising her children, she worked on the family farm, tending to the animals and field work.  A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Joan will always be remembered for her excellent cooking and baking treats (especially her homemade bread), gardening, fishing with her husband and quilting skills, each family member, children to great-grandchildren, receiving a handmade fabric legacy to treasure.

Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, Dale, and their four children, Dennis (Debbie) Bouchonville, Jean (Mike) Mercier, Dan (Patti) Bouchonville, Bonnie (Rick) Agamaite; sixteen grandchildren, Eric (Natalie) Estel, Lindsey (Ryan) Jelle, Travis (fiancé Jelle) Bouchonville, Sara (Bahlal) Dahabiyeh, Jodi Alsteen, Chad Alsteen, Nick (Jane) Alsteen, Bill (Mary) Alsteen, Sadie Mercier, Katie (Chris) Jansen, Jackie (Dustin) Mercier, Justin (Jenny) Bouchonville, Jesse (Becca) Bouchonville, TJ (Megan) Agamaite, Steven (Katie) Agamaite, April (Jeremy) Pingel; 34 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was welcomed into eternal life by her parents, Eleanor and Joseph; her stepfather, Herbert Lenius; one brother, Ervin (Jeanette) Franda; one sister, Shirley (Donald) Wautier; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eunice and Harold Bouchonville.

As per family wishes, the funeral for Joan will be private at St. Joseph Church in Champion and her body will be laid to rest at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Green Bay.
