Francis Joseph Bair, 93, Algoma, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at the Algoma Long Term Care Unit. Francis was born on December 19, 1929, to the late Frank and Marie (Longley) Bair. He married Jean Kostichka on July 3, 1954, at St. Mary’s in Algoma. Francis served in the U.S. Army and then worked at US Plywood / Algoma Hardwoods until retirement. He was an avid coin collector, and enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing,
Francis is survived by his children, Julie Nell, Lynn Vlies, Mike (Sue) Bair, Lisa Wade; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim Bair, and Dennis Bair; and sister, Sharon Sariego. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Bair; son, Patrick Bair; great-grandson, Deacon Nell; sons-in-law, Mark Nell, Robert Vlies, and Kevin Wade; parents; brothers and sisters, George, Kenneth, Tom, Joan, and Joyce.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 11:00 am-12:00 pm at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Algoma, Memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm with Fr. Andrew Kurz officiating.
