Daniel Patrick Beauchamp

Daniel Patrick Beauchamp, 68, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at home on Thursday, June 8, 2023.

He was born August 2, 1954 in Escanaba, MI, the son of Ronald and Rose (DeBacker) Beauchamp. Dan grew up in Rock, MI and was a 1972 graduate of Rock High School.

For many years, Dan worked for Bay Shipbuilding Co. in Sturgeon Bay. He ended his career as a self-employed handyman, often assisting friends and neighbors without asking for anything in return.

Dan loved his four children very much and was actively involved in their lives, especially with their involvement in youth sports. Over the years, he coached his children’s soccer, basketball, softball, and football teams. In recent years, Dan loved spending time with his grandchildren and cheering them on from the sidelines as they played soccer and basketball.

For nearly 50 years, he was an active member of St. Joseph Parish in Sturgeon Bay. In addition to attending weekly mass at St. Joe’s, Dan served as an usher and volunteered his time and handyman skills to resolve maintenance issues at the church. He was a Member at Handyman Club of America. Dan graciously volunteered his time with a variety of nonprofit organizations, including Door County Habitat for Humanity, the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Alfonse Broens Council 2478, Meals on Wheels, and Paul’s Pantry. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan and always looked forward to game day.

Dan will be missed by his children, Jamie (Jennifer) Beauchamp, Shauna (Matthew) Swanson, Nicholas (Rachel) Beauchamp, and Lisa (Joel) Fields; grandchildren, Hannah Beauchamp-Pope, Jewel Fields, Nathan Beauchamp, Connor Beauchamp, Brynn Beauchamp, Caitlin Beauchamp, Aubrey Beauchamp, and Xavier Swanson; one great-grandchild, Cairo Fields; siblings, Barbara Nummilien, Jean (Jim) Beauchamp, Thomas (Susan) Beauchamp, Donna (Dennis) Koontz, Rebecca Smith, Timothy (Carol) Beauchamp, and Brenda (John) Wery; sister-in-law, Sandra Beauchamp; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will join his parents, Ronald and Rose Beauchamp; brothers, David and Doug Beauchamp; and brother-in-law, Brand Nummilien, in eternal life.

Dan's life will be honored with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay with Father Robert Stegmann as celebrant. A lunch will follow the Mass, in the (lower-level) social hall of church.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with a parish wake service to conclude the evening at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to honor Dan's legacy by establishing the Daniel P. Beauchamp Scholarship Fund, which will assist students attending trade schools in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota. To donate go to https://angelinkweb.page.link/KvFrcemBayn85Gw99.
