A recent newsletter from the Boys and Girls Club of Door County touched my heart. I sincerely believe it is worth sharing. Perhaps it will make all of us more appreciative and more sensitive to those around us throughout the year.
Executive Director Heather Powell simply quoted letters to Santa from children at the Boys and Girls Club.
“Dear Santa, I have tried to be good this year. My family needs toilet paper.”
“Dear Santa, Can you give us another bedroom. We all sleep in the same one.”
“Dear Santa, I’ve been good to my brother this year. Could you bring him some new snow boots. He’s wearing my old ones that are pink and have a hole in them.”
“Dear Santa, I need to spend more time with my biological dad. Can you please give me a gift card to a restaurant or the movies so he will want to stay longer when he visits me?”
Heather’s entire newsletter can be viewed here.
The Boys and Girls Club of Door County is doing good things in our community. Heather Powell has made me more appreciative and sensitive and I hope she may do the same for you.
That’s my opinion. I’d like to hear yours.
