The Green Bay Packers signed offensive tackle Gerhard de Beer to the practice squad. The transaction was announced Tuesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
de Beer, a 6-foot-6, 312-pound rookie, was originally signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Arizona on May 11. After being released by the Bills on Sept. 1, he spent a short time on Buffalo’s practice squad. At Arizona, de Beer played in 23 games and blocked for a rushing offense that ranked No. 3 in the nation with an average of 309.3 yards per game in 2017. He will wear No. 72 for the Packers.
