Girls basketball: LC Spartans more than a one-woman team

When your high school team has a D1 athlete on it, that player tends to attract most of the attention on the team. The Luxemburg-Casco High School girls basketball senior guard Cassie Schiltz who has committed to play basketball at the University of Green Bay starting next season.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s carrying the team and the other players aren’t nearly up to her level. The Spartans this year have a 4-1 in the North Eastern Conference thanks in part to everyone else on the team. Head Coach Jeff Jodar is really liking the contributions he is getting from everyone on the team this season including a couple of young players in sophomore guard Kenzie Hanson, and freshman guard Lauren Adams. They hope to continue the success of the program for the next few seasons.

The other 4-year starter next to Schiltz is senior guard Jenna Jorgensen. She is second on the team in points (16.1 PPG), rebounds (5.6 RPG), and assists (1.9 APG). Coach Jodar says she does a little bit of everything for the Spartans.

The LC Spartan girls (5-3 overall, 4-1 conference) have a huge game tomorrow night against the first place Wrightstown Tigers (7-0 overall, 6-0 conference) at home. Wrightstown is undefeated overall winning every game by at least 17 points. That game will start at 7:00 PM.
