It’s hard to live up to the hype set by the community following a state championship season, but after a rocky start, the Luxemburg-Casco wrestling team is picking up steam heading into 2019. Following a season-opening 40-15 defeat at the hands of Wrightstown, the Spartans have recovered and have since beat other strong teams such as Little Chute and Denmark. The team has also looked convincing at several tournaments, including the Minnesota Christmas Tournament last week. Head coach Chas Treml said some of the younger members of the team have contributed most to the upswing, especially in the upper weight classes.
The Spartans have one more tournament in 2018, the BiState Classic, before heading into 2019 with a match against Coleman on January 4th.
