The rest of the National League Central is making sure the Milwaukee Brewers know the target is on them this offseason. The Brewers made a move on Friday to acquire left-handed hitting outfielder Ben Gamel and Minor League reliever Noah Zavolas in exchange for Domingo Santana. The move was overshadowed by two other moves by their NL Central foes. The Cincinnati Reds received outfielders Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp, and starting pitcher Alex Wood in exchange for pitcher Homer Bailey and two prospects in a move viewed largely as a salary dump for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The St. Louis Cardinals followed their signing of first baseman Paul Goldschmidt earlier this month with the signing of ace reliever Andrew Miller. The Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs also made moves to acquire more pitching, picking up Jordan Lyles and Kendall Graveman respectively.
There are sure to be more moves made by five NL Central teams before pitchers and catchers report February 13th.
