Door County middle school wrestlers fared extremely well at the Denmark Duals last weekend. Southern Door finished third as a team. The Eagles dual scores were:

Denmark 48   - Southern Door 43
Southern Door 46  - Freedom 46
Bay Port 86  - Southern Door 30

Coach Kevin Slezewski said, "(There were) close battles on the mat and several pivotal matches allowed the Eagles to take advantage of tiebreak criteria to secure third place.

Jaxon Rankin represented Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol well in Denmark at their youth tournament. Rankin took first place in the 120 to 132-pound bracket. (Photo below)

Also at the Denmark Youth Tournament, Southern Door finished fourth as a team. The Eagles had 20 wrestlers compete with the following results:

1st Place - Jonah LeFevre, Oliver Wilke, Tucker Cornette, Gavin Geisel, Dylan Kaye

2nd Place - Peter Bloniarz, Chase Massart, Clark LeFevre, Lance Veeser, Brock Beyer Jr., Trevin Veeser 

3rd Place - Keny Lynch, Malaina Veeser, Colton Valley, Cruz Anschutz 

4th Place - Jace Bosman, Jiohnni Oberleitner, Jade Wrenn, Nathan VandenPlas, Lilly Wrenn

Additionally, Spencer made the podium at Badgerland Nationals over the weekend. His sixth-place finish was a great accomplishment for Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol Youth Wrestling as well.
