Sturgeon Bay coach pleased with effort despite loss to Algoma

Sturgeon Bay girls basketball head coach Erik Tauschek would've rather picked up the win, but was still satisfied with his team's effort during their 77-40 loss against Algoma Tuesday night. The Clippers fought hard but could not overcome the Wolves' press, which created turnovers and led to several quick and easy buckets for Algoma. However, Tauschek said he was pleased with the offensive production from his team nonethless, and said they would be in a good position moving forward if they could manage to limit second chances on the defensive side of the ball.

Sturgeon Bay is 1-11 on the year and 1-7 in conference play. The Clippers  will next compete in non-conference action when they meet Green Bay West on their home floor Friday. On Monday, another tough conference foe awaits the team as they travel to Gibraltar to take on the Vikings.
