Spartan boys fall to Marinette 75-73 on WBDK

Luxemburg-Casco Spartan boys’ basketball lost their sixth straight game in a heartbreaking 75-73 loss to the Marinette Marines Tuesday night in North Eastern Conference game in Luxemburg. The Spartans trailed by a much as 15 points in the second half before taking a brief lead with six minutes left.  Spartan sophomore Ryan Robillard hit a basket with under a minute to go in the game to tie the game at 75-75.  After a timeout, Matt Wagner hit a 15- foot jumper with only :07 left to give the Marine the lead.  Robillard missed a three-pointer from the top of the key before the buzzer as Marinette survived the Spartan comeback. 

Marinette was led in scoring by Jacob Poetzl with 25 points while Wagner finished with 21.  Anthony Otradovec hit six three-pointers to lead the Spartans along with Robillard for a team high 18 points.  Nathan Coisman returning from an ankle injury after missing four games added 15 points.

Luxemburg-Casco (3-5, 5-6 overall) will now travel to Oconto Falls next Tuesday in hopes of breaking their losing streak.  The six remaining L-C boys and girls regular season games to be broadcast on the radio are listed below.
