Home runs in back to back innings helped give the Milwaukee Brewers an 8-5 win over the Chicago White Sox. After Hernan Perez gave the Brewers an early 1-0 lead on an RBI single, Ryan Braun and Cory Spangenberg hit multi-run homers in consecutive innings to stretch the lead to six. The White Sox would score a pair of runs in the sixth and seventh innings to narrow the lead to 6-4, but the Brewers would score twice on two wild pitches to put the game out of reach. Monday marked the return to the mound for Jimmy Nelson, who missed all of 2018 recovering from shoulder surgery. He gave up two runs on four hits in his one inning of work.
The Brewers return to action Tuesday in a rare night contest against the San Francisco Giants in Scottsdale beginning at 9:05.
