The Brewers blew leads of 5-0 and 8-7 but were able to also come back a couple of times against the Pirates on Saturday and came away with a wild 12-10 victory in 13 innings. Milwaukee hit five home runs on the day including two from Orlando Arcia. Keston Hiura hit a game-tying two-run homer in the ninth to send the game to extra innings. Arcia then won in for the Brewers in the 13th with a two-run homer of his own. Mike Moustakas and Christian Yelich also went yard.
Brandon Woodruff could not hold a 5-0 after the top of the third inning. He allowed 4 in the third and two more in the fifth when the bullpen couldn't hold the lead. Yelich's three-run homer in the sixth gave the Brewers the lead right back at 8-7. Starling Marte's three-run shot in the eighth off of Josh Hader gave the lead back to the Pirates at 10-8. Hiura and Arcia's home run heroics gave the Brewers a victory and they are now back in first place by a half-game over the Cubs.
Milwaukee will try to take three out of four from the Pirates on Sunday at 12:35 PM in Pittsburgh.
