The Milwaukee Brewers continued to struggle on their current homestand as they fell to the Pittsburg Pirates 3-2 at Miller Park on Friday night. After scoring two runs in the first inning, the Brewers failed to score again. The Pirates rallied with a run in the eight inning and inserted closer Felipe Vazquez (2-0), who got the win by promptly retired all six batters he faced as the Pirates pushed a run across in the top of the ninth. Jeremy Jeffress (1-2) took the loss for the Brewers (43-39) who remain one game behind the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central. The Brewers and Pirates will play the second game of the three-game series Saturday at 7:15pm.
