Booyah Bats Explode in Offensive Outburst

The Green Bay Booyah dominated at the dish and scored a season-high 17 runs on Tuesday night in a 17-5 win over the Kalamazoo Growlers.

The offense was explosive from the start, scoring three runs in the first inning off of a three-run home run from Chris Williams. The Booyah never trailed in the game after they struck in the first frame.

At the plate, everyone found a way to get involved in the offense for the Booyah. Williams led all hitters by going 2-4 with two home runs and six total RBIs on the day. Nick Kreutzer produced in a big way on the offensive end as well, going 2-4 with the first-ever Booyah grand slam. Williams and Kreutzer now both have four home runs on the season. Joe Mason picked up three hits on the night, while also scoring three times.  Mike Ferri also produced at the plate, going 3-5 with two RBIs. In the nine spot, Mike Ruggiero continued to see the ball well, going 1-4 with two walks and two RBIs.

On the mound, Victor Santana went 4.2 innings, giving up five hits and four runs. Santana walked five Growler batters and struck out two, earning a no-decision. The win went to Jacob Paulishak, who spent 2.1 innings on the bump, striking out four and allowing one run. The victory was the first of the season for Paulishak. Also, out of the bullpen, Connor Spear and Jacob Buchberger each went one inning, giving up a combined one hit. Spear struck out two in his one frame.

Green Bay looks to sweep the season series tomorrow against Kalamazoo at home. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. and Nick Riggle takes the mound for the Booyah in his seventh start of the season.
