The Brewers had to come back late against the Cubs on Friday night and got a big victory over their division rival. With Milwaukee down 2-1 with two outs and the bases loaded in the eighth inning, Ben Gamel came up and knocked in two with a single to right field. Josh Hader held the Cubs down in the ninth to get save and give the Brewers a 3-2 win.
No runs were scored until the sixth inning when the Cubs' David Bote hit a two-run homer off of Brewers starter Gio Gonzalez. Christian Yelich got an RBI single in the seventh to cut the lead to one.
The two teams will play again Saturday evening with a 6:10 first pitch.
