Nats slug past Crew

The Washington Nationals hit eight home runs in its 16-8 rout of the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday afternoon.

The host Nationals scored 13 runs in the first three innings thanks in part to homers by Matt Adams, Victor Robles, Brian Dozier, Juan Soto, and Anthony Rendon. Ben Gamel broke up the shut out with a home run in the fourth innning and Mike Moustakas hit a three-run bomb in the fifth to make it 13-4. Adam Eaton and Soto tacked on more runs in the bottom half of the fifth with home runs and Dozier added another blast in the eighth. Moustakas and Orlando Arcia added a pair of dingers to cut the lead in half for the final 16-8 score.

The Brewers head to St. Louis for pivotal NL Central matchup this week against the Cardinals.
