Milwaukee fell 10-0 on Friday night in St. Louis and went down 2-0 after two innings Saturday but that didn’t fluster them. St. Louis centerfielder Harrison Bader scored on a throwing error by Brewers catcher Yasmani Grandal after Bader had stolen third base. It was the last run of the night for the Cardinals. Milwaukee tied it up on a Mike Moustakas line-drive home run to center in the fourth and Grandal hit a homer in the eighth inning. Both were two-run shots plating Trent Grisham. Milwaukee also scored a lone run in the sixth when first baseman Eric Thames grounded into a fielder’s choice.
Chicago downed Pittsburgh 14-1 and the Cubs remain a game ahead of Milwaukee for the NL Wild Card race.
