Brewers roll, tie for Wild Card

The Brewers have now won 11 out of their last 12 games after a 3-1 victory over the Padres on Tuesday night. Mike Moustakas hit a home run in the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie. Milwaukee used five different pitchers to strike out 15 Padres on the night. Lorenzo Cain got the scoring going with a solo home run in the third inning. San Diego tied it in the top of the 7th when Hunter Renfroe hit a home run. Moustakas's homer put the Brewers up for good in the bottom of the inning. Milwaukee added an insurance run in the 8th when Trent Grisham hit a sac fly to drive in Ben Gamel.

The Cubs and Cardinals both lost on Tuesday which means the Brewers are now tied with Chicago for the second Wild Card spot and just two games behind St. Louis in the NL Central.

The Brewers will try to keep their impressive streak going on Wednesday night again against the Padres. The first pitch will be at 6:40 PM at Miller Park.
