The Kewaunee High School football team used a potent first half offense to run away from Southern Door Friday night. Kewaunee took the opening drive for a touchdown in only 95 seconds with Owen Kudick running in from 12 yards out. Southern Door matched Kewaunee with a touchdown of their own on the Eagles' opening possession. Jack Peterson caught a 15-yard strike on a post pattern from quarterback Marcus Marchant. The extra point failed.
The scoring stopped for Southern Door after that. That wasn't the case for Kewaunee. The Storm's second drive took just three minutes ending in a Jack Severin one-yard TD run. Severin ran it in again with 7:22 left in the second quarter from 34 yards out. Kewaunee went up 28-6 on a 50-yard bubble screen catch-and-run to Benjamin Heim.
In the second half Kewaunee scored two touchdowns, both in the fourth quarter. Jason Selner intercepted Marchant returning it to the Southern Door five. Ryan Carmichael snuck it in from a yard out. Severin scored again for Kewaunee with under 40 seconds to go. The final was 42-6.
