The Wisconsin Badgers were not excluded from a night of suprises in Big Ten basketball action Wednesday night, losing to Rutgers 72-65.
The Badgers entered the second half holding a slim one point lead, but were outscored by the Scarlet Knights 40-32 in the final frame to lose their first conference game of the season. Kobe King led the Badgers with 18 points while Trevor Anderson came off the bench to score another 11. Rebounding was a large factor in the win for the Scarlet Knights, grabbing 40 boards to just 25 for the Badgers with 14 of those coming off the offensive glass.
The Badgers look to right the ship next Saturday when it hosts in-state rival Milwaukee. In the meantime, the Green Bay men play this Saturday at home against Evansville and Marquette hosts Grambling State next Tuesday.
