The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team lost its leading scorer last weekend when Kobe King left the team before a loss at Iowa. King said that frustration is building in the locker room towards head coach Greg Gard. The thing that should be worrisome for Badger fans is that the team was riding a stretch of excellent play for much of January and that couldn’t paper over the tension.
Wisconsin will try to regroup and find a win against a Michigan State team that knocked off the Badgers a couple weeks ago in East Lansing. It won’t be easy. The Spartans were humbled in a road loss two weeks ago at Purdue and have refocused to try to live up to the preseason number one billing they enjoyed. The Badgers are obviously shorthanded and will be for the rest of the campaign.
