Packers ready towards free agency, draft may be postponed

The NFL free agency period begins this Wednesday and fans are wondering if the Green Bay Packers will be as active as they were last season.  Under General Manager Brian Gutekunst, the Packers uncharacteristically signed veterans to big contacts like edge rushers Z’adarius and Preston Smith along with safety Adrian Amos in 2019 to shore up the defense.  Gutekunst also has decisions to make regarding 21 unsigned veterans including starters offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga, wide receiver  Geronimo Allison, and linebacker Blake Martinez.  The Packers may go after a tight end in free agency or the draft after releasing tight end Jimmy Graham last week and thus saving about eight million dollars in salary cap money.  The NFL draft is reportedly being postponed until May and will not be held in Las Vegas.  The three-day draft was scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 23.
