Two collegiate conferences with northeast Wisconsin ties have canceled their fall sports seasons for 2020.
The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, which includes UW-Oshkosh, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Whitewater, UW-La Crosse, UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout, UW-Platteville and UW- River Falls and the Midwest Conference, which includes Beloit College, Lawrence University in Appleton, Ripon College and St. Norbert College in De Pere, made the call with two other NCAA Division III conferences on Monday. The decision affects the football, women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and men’s and women’s cross country seasons while women's golf and tennis will move to the spring. Several athletes from the Door Peninsula have called schools in the DIII conferences home and will only have practices likely to look forward to this year.
