Green Bay Swept by La Crosse

The Green Bay Booyah fell for the fourth straight time at home on Friday night as they lost 5-3 to La Crosse.

Green Bay lit up the scoreboard in the first inning, with both Nadir Lewis and Andy Blake hitting solo home runs. Lewis’s home run was his fifth of the season, putting him in first on the active roster for most long balls. Andy Blake homered for the fourth time this year, the third time against La Crosse, after he hit the ball over the right field wall on the pitch after Lewis homered. Green Bay’s only other run came in the sixth off an RBI single from Brady West to score Blake.

On the mound, starter Logan Lee struggled with command but worked four innings, giving up just one while walking six. Lee was handed a no decision, and Brad Deboutte threw two scoreless innings on Friday night, striking out just one. Chandler Ingram was handed the loss, his second of the year, after going two and two-thirds and allowing four runs, three of which were earned. Ingram fell to 2-2 on the season.

Green Bay tries to get back on the winning track tomorrow night as they travel to Wausau to take on the Woodchucks for a two-game series. So far this season, the Booyah are 2-0 at Athletic Park, and are 4-2 overall against the Woodchucks. Ace Jack Mahoney takes the mound for Green Bay, in search of his second victory in 2020. First pitch from Wausau is scheduled for 6:35pm, and pregame on WOCO 107.1 FM starts at 6:25pm.
