Big Ten Commissioner's open letter fails to satisfy

Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren wrote an open letter last week explaining his rationale for canceling the fall sports season.

It has failed to satisfy many. Parents of student-athletes protested in Chicago in front of the conference’s headquarters last Friday. Big Ten athletic directors leaked the results of their vote regarding playing in the fall this past weekend. They were unanimously in favor of the proposition. A plan by Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith that would feature a 10-game slate with six of the league’s members playing home-and-home series was also thwarted. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer personally stepped in to keep the University of Michigan from being involved.
