The first round of the WIAA playoffs was a mixed bag for area football fans on Friday night.

On 102.1 MORE FM, the Southern Door Eagles came up just inches away from forcing overtime but came up short in its 14-6 defeat to Brillion.

On 96.7 WBDK, Luxemburg-Casco took a big lead early and held on late as they defeated Plymouth 30-20. The Spartans will move onto the final round of the 2020 playoffs when they play next Thursday against West DePere.
